On the isentropic compressible Navier-Stokes equation
In this article, we consider the compressible Navier-Stokes equation with density dependent viscosity coefficients. We focus on the case where those coefficients vanish on vacuum. We prove the stability of weak solutions for periodic domain Ω = T as well as the whole space Ω = R , when N = 2 and N = 3. The pressure is given by p = ρ , and our result holds for any γ > 1. In particular, we prove ...
متن کاملExistence & Smoothness of the Navier–stokes Equation
Equation (1) is just Newton’s law f = ma for a fluid element subject to the external force f = (fi(x, t))1 i n and to the forces arising from pressure and friction. Equation (2) just says that the fluid is incompressible. For physically reasonable solutions, we want to make sure u(x, t) does now grow large as |x| → ∞. Hence, we will restrict attention to forces f and initial conditions u◦ that ...
متن کاملStochastic 2-D Navier-Stokes Equation
In this paper we prove the existence and uniqueness of strong solutions for the stochastic Navier-Stokes equation in bounded and unbounded domains. These solutions are stochastic analogs of the classical Lions-Prodi solutions to the deterministic Navier-Stokes equation. Local monotonicity of the nonlinearity is exploited to obtain the solutions in a given probability space and this significantl...
متن کاملRooted Trees for 3d Navier-stokes Equation
We establish a representation of the solution of 3d Navier-Stokes equations in the space Φ(α, α) using sums over rooted trees. We study the convergence properties of this series recovering in a simplified manner some results obtained recently by Sinai and other known results. The series representation make sense also in the critical case where there exists global solutions for small initial data.
متن کاملOptimization with the time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations as constraints
In this paper, optimal distributed control of the time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations is considered. The control problem involves the minimization of a measure of the distance between the velocity field and a given target velocity field. A mixed numerical method involving a quasi-Newton algorithm, a novel calculation of the gradients and an inhomogeneous Navier-Stokes solver, to find the opt...
